About Bell |
The Gerlicher clan purchased Bell Island in 2003. Since purchasing the island, Steve and Erica have spend the summers on the island, removing ocean spray, building "Camp Run-a-Muk" and deciding where to build the main house. Bell Island is a small island (4 acres or so, depending on the tide) in the San Juan Islands in Washington. The island currently has one small guest house, a large pump house with a water storage tank, and Camp Run-A-Muk. We are currently trying to get the permits to build on Bell. We have the plans for both the shop and the master house. The shop is both for storage, projects, and water storage. The shop will be about 30' x 30' with the water storage in underground tanks. It will also have a small loft for extra storage and an outdoor shower. The main house is a timber frame house. We are going to use recycled old growth timber and logs for all the beams and supports. Rolf, the builder, will mill old growth fir or pine to use as flooring. The house will have two master bedrooms, see through fireplaces, and a large entertainment room.
